Education & Experience
Dr. Prathna is a compassionate and highly experienced clinical psychologist who has dedicated her career to supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and their families. With a professional background spanning South Africa, the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates, she brings a culturally informed and developmentally attuned perspective to her work with children aged 3 to 12 years.
Dr. Prathna has worked across hospitals, clinics, and school settings, offering psychological support for children with a range of emotional and behavioural challenges, including:
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Adjustment to life transitions such as relocation or school changes
- Grief and bereavement
- Parental divorce or separation
- Low self-esteem and confidence issues
- Trauma and attachment-related challenges
- Difficulties in peer relationships
Dr. Prathna places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of her work. She creates emotionally safe spaces where children can express themselves, process their experiences, and develop resilience. Her doctoral research focused on child psychology and systems of care to support children in the United Arab Emirates, which deepened her understanding of the psychological and social dynamics that influence child development in multicultural settings.
