CDA-Licensed Psychologist
Education & Experience
Mir is a CDA-licensed psychologist with a foundation in evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology (Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology) with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland, where she also completed her Graduate Diploma in Psychology. She has additionally trained in Psychological First-Aid and Trauma-Informed Care.
Mir’s work is centered on developing a holistic understanding of each client’s emotional, behavioral, and cognitive concerns. Her approach integrates psychometric assessment and observational data to inform diagnostic formulation and treatment plan. Her expertise spans the diagnostic lifecycle with a specific focus on:
Neuropsychological and Psychoeducational Assessments covering areas such as cognitive and academic functioning, ADHD and executive dysfunction, ID, and learning differences (such as dyslexia and dysgraphia).
Mental and Emotional Health covering areas such as depression, chronic anxiety and stress, life transitions, trauma, identity-related concerns, somatic regulation, and occupational burnout.
Complex Cases/Differential Diagnosis that require disentangling comorbid presentations of emotional concerns (dysregulation, depression, stress) from neurocognitive difficulties.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration focused on creating holistic and integrated profiles that bridge the gap between cognitive data and functional outcomes for the client.
In her psychotherapy work, Mir utilizes a neuro-affirming and systems-informed framework, ensuring that therapeutic interventions cater to the client’s cognitive profile and individual goals. Her treatment approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic body-based regulation strategies.
Alongside her clinical work, Mir has experience in crisis response services, academic research and teaching, and development of digital mental health technology. She has contributed to public mental health awareness initiatives and presented her work at various academic and professional forums.
