Lily Peterson
CDA-Licensed Psychologist
Education & Experience
Lily is an experienced psychologist who offers a compassionate and developmentally attuned approach to emotional and relational healing using a psychodynamic play-based approach.
Drawing from her background in education, child development and clinical mental health, Lily helps children and adolescents make sense of their inner world through play, therapeutic connection, and reflection.
Integrating child-led play and talk therapy techniques along with her knowledge and understanding of family systems, every session is thoughtfully tailored to the over staying concerns, individuals age and developmental stage, emotional needs, and readiness.
Lily’s professional journey spans from early childhood education, specialty child development care and monitoring, to hospital-based child, adolescent and family mental health services, including her work at Auckland’s leading children’s hospital.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Lily brings alternative and holistic health trainings into the healing space. This includes her trainings in yoga, meditation, breathwork, reiki, and mind–body practices. This further supports creating a calm and nurturing space where young people can learn to co-regular, learn ground techniques, and begin to build safer and healthier communication and relationship skills.
Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, coping with illness, family changes, or simply needs a safe space to have complex feeling and thoughts be heard and understood, Lily offers a therapeutic environment that is both insightful and deeply supportive.
