Not sure where to start?
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll match you to the right psychologist.
The way your sense of self, your body, your relationships and your priorities all shift at once ? there?s even a word for it, matrescence, the becoming of a mother, as big a transition as adolescence and far less talked about.
This support is for that becoming. A licensed psychologist works with you in 50-minute sessions, in person in JLT or online, to help you bond with your baby, make peace with the changes, and find the new version of yourself ? rather than grieving the old one in silence.

Common questions about becoming a mother
Is this the same as postpartum depression?
Not necessarily. Matrescence is the normal (if huge) identity shift of becoming a mother; postpartum depression is a clinical condition. They can overlap, and we?ll help you tell the difference and get the right support.
I feel guilty for grieving my old life. Is that wrong?
Not at all. Grieving aspects of your pre-baby self while loving your child is normal and healthy. Naming it usually brings relief, not more guilt.
Can you help me prepare my first child for a sibling?
Yes. We support both you and your older child through the transition, so the new arrival feels like an addition rather than a loss to them.
Can sessions be online, with the baby there?
Absolutely ? babies are welcome, and video sessions make support realistic in the newborn fog.
Does insurance apply?
Often, via direct billing. Send your provider on WhatsApp and we?ll confirm your coverage within a day.
You haven?t lost yourself ? you?re becoming someone new. We?ll help you meet her.
